The questions we are asked most often.

On the product, the legal validity of the register, artificial intelligence and how we work with your advisors.

Product

What the platform does.

Does Able replace our cap table spreadsheet?

Yes. The cap table and the share register are driven by the same entry: a validated transaction updates both in a single step. Your existing spreadsheet is the starting point for the migration.

Do you handle multi-tier holding structures?

Yes. Each tier of the structure is modelled as it actually exists, with its own instruments. That is the main difference from a tool designed for a company with a single layer of shareholders.

Which instruments do you support?

Ordinary and preference shares, BSPCE (French employee share warrants), BSA (share warrants), AGA (free shares), convertible bonds and value-sharing mechanisms… Able represents your securities exactly as your agreements define them.

How long does it take to migrate our history?

It depends on the volume and condition of the source documents: contact us for a quote. Rest assured, migration is quick. We send you a list of the documents we need, you give us access to your files and our team does the rest.

What do our shareholders see?

Whatever you choose to share with them. Each shareholder has a personal space showing their position, their documents and any actions they need to take. An exit scenario stays internal until you decide to share it.

Do we need a technical team to get started?

No. Our team runs the deployment together with you or the colleagues who handle these matters. No technical integration is required to get started.

Legal and security

What we commit to.

Is the register kept on Able legally valid?

Since the French ordinance of the 8th of December 2017, the share transfer register can be kept on a shared electronic ledger (DEEP). A paper register is no longer required. Every entry validated in Able is sealed on blockchain, time-stamped and can be reviewed in chronological order.

What happens if an entry is wrong?

It is never erased. An incorrect entry is fixed with a corrective one, which is itself logged. That is what guarantees a register reviewed years later accurately shows what exactly happened.

What exactly does artificial intelligence do?

AI does the groundwork: it reads your existing documentation, suggests matches and flags discrepancies with a certain confidence level. It never validates anything. Every register entry requires an explicit decision by an authorised user.

How is data from different companies kept separate?

Each company's data is kept isolated from every other company's. Users only see the scope assigned to them. Sensitive data is encrypted, with dedicated key management.

Our main fear was losing our register history. It was perfectly migrated, and then checked line by line.
